Fall Out Boy Team With 'Gimme Shelter' Director For Rock Doc
Well, it looks like he found his man. In keeping with pretty much everything Wentz does, it's a rather surprising choice: legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles, one-half of the team that made the Rolling Stones' seminal "Gimme Shelter" tour film and later, "Grey Gardens," a look at a pair of aging socialites living in a crumbling mansion in the Hamptons.
It's a particularly amazing moment for FOB, and to be honest, they're still not really sure how it happened. (...)

Radiohead prepares for physical release of CD / New Year's Performance on Current TV
Radiohead_image source | London-based indie label XL Recordings is living up to its name by playing an extra-large role in one of 2007's biggest music industry stories after snagging the physical release of Radiohead's "In Rainbows." |
The left-field rock band effectively threw the recording industry rule book out the window when it released the studio set through its own Web site October 10, allowing downloaders to set their own price.
Speculation over who would issue the album physically spiraled until October 31, when XL announced it would release the CD on New Year's Eve worldwide -- excluding the United States, where it lands the following day through Dave Matthews' ATO Records, and Japan, which sees a December 26 release through Hostess.
XL now faces several unknown factors -- not the least of which is finding out how a new album performs after being available digitally for three months.
RADIOHEAD ON TV
A special performance by Radiohead will be aired exclusively in the USA by Current TV on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The band will be performing all of the tracks from its newest album, In Rainbows, for a taped, private, hour-long performance, which will run commercial-free on Current TV and on www.current.com simultaneously. Led Zeppelin 2008 Tour Plans
Led Zeppelin_image source | LED Zeppelin will definitely be touring next year and are planning a massive show at the Millennium Stadium. But the rock legends are waiting for all the fuss surrounding their reunion to die down before announcing dates. Robert Plant, 59, Jimmy Page, 63, and John Paul Jones, 61, were thrilled with the reaction to their one-off show at London’s O2 Arena last week but won’t play again until the second half of 2008. |
My source close to the Zep said: “Robert was overwhelmed by the attention but he wants the fuss to die down before doing more stuff with the band. It’ll be towards the end of the year now.”
Despite Plant announcing a separate solo tour with Alison Krauss, 36, the reformed rockers are
looking at doing a series of major gigs across the world including at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Green Day secret side project
Green Day | Contact Music reports: Rockers Green Day have prompted rumours of a secret side project, after fans realised new music released under the name FOXBORO HOT TUBS sounded remarkably like the band. The group are currently working on a follow-up to their 2004 disc, American Idiot, but the stark similarities in vocals between Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong and those on the Foxboro Hot Tubs' EP have got Internet blogs wondering whether the Holiday hitmakers have gone undercover to experiment with a new 1960s-inspired sound. [listen at http://www.myspace.com/foxborohottubs] |
If Green Day are proven to be behind the Foxboro Hot Tubs, it would not be the first time they have released tracks under a pseudonym [Doesn't just about every emo/pop-punk singer these days try sound a bit like Billie Joe? The trick we hear is to hold your nostrils closed while singing.
