The Dirty Three Play Rare US Dates!

Seven lucky cities get the chance to see the seminal Aussie instrumental trio The Dirty Three this October! In support of their new album, Cinder, out on October 11 via Touch and Go Records, the Dirty Three are making a couple rare US appearances. Their seventh record in 14 years, Cinder features something that they've never used before, vocals, in the form of Chan Marshall (Cat Power) and Sally Timms of the Mekons, who lends their voice to a couple tracks.

After participating in the ATP "Don't Look Back" series, where they are going to be performing their 1998 album Ocean Songs in its entirety, the Dirty Three starts their tour in Portland, OR and ends at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY.

Jesus, The Dirty Three are AMAZING live. I was working as manager at a new (at the time) club in Baltimore when they happened upon us on some odd weeknight in 1996. The crowd of about 75 was mezmerized, as was I. I bought everything they had- I think "Horse Stories" was album they were touring on.
