Libertines' Barat Finds New Band

Former Libertines front man Carl Barat has a new act -- though his hasn't found a name for it yet.
Barat returns with an outfit that revamps the Libertines lineup, with drummer Gary Powell and guitarist Antony Rossomando, who filled in for booted guitarist Pete Doherty during The Libertines' dying days. He swipes bassist Didz Hammond from Cooper Temple Clause to round out the new band.

Barat told fans the new outfit "toiled day and night" to cut its first demos. No recording plans have been revealed.

Barat's avoided the spotlight since The Libertines splintered while former band mate Pete Doherty's earned coverage for his new act, Babyshambles, and his chaotic personal life.
