The 31-year-old singer has already shot her scenes in India and will soon head for the Isle of Man for more filming. Corr, who has acted in The Commitments and Evita, was seen last year in The Bridge, a short thriller that screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
In it she played a sacked hospital psychologist counselling an elderly man who is contemplating suicide, played by former EastEnders actor Leonard Fenton.
The Thread tells of a half-Indian, half-English businessman haunted by a mysterious woman from his past.
The cast also includes Bollywood actor Roshan Seth.
The Corrs release their latest album, Home, on 26 September.
