Jack White to Pen Song for Coke Ad

Jack White isn't comfortable with using songs off his albums in commercials -- but he'll whip you up an original if you ask nicely.

The White Stripes singer/guitarist confirmed rumors that he’s written a song for Coca Cola to use in a television commercial. The song, which hopes to become the “I’d Like to Buy a World a Coke” commercial of the iPod generation, has already been written and recorded for the commercial.

Jack’s done more than become a shill for a soda corporation lately, though. The White Stripes wrapped up shooting a video for “The Denial Twist,” off this year’s Get Behind Me Satan (V2). Based on the week-long residency the act did on the Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2003, the band sort-of recreates the week – complete with a cameo from O’Brien himself.

“I don’t know whether to thank Jack, Meg and Michel for an amazing experience or sue them for copyright infringement,” O’Brien said in a statement.
