Paul van Dyk | PAUL VAN DYK VOTED WORLD'S #1 DJ Dance music fans across the world have made their vote count and have chosen Paul van Dyk as the World’s Number 1 DJ in DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll 2005. The Grammy nominated artist, composer, producer and political activist received the award at a ceremony at London’s Ministry Of Sound last Thursday. |
The Top 100 DJs Poll, the most prestigious reference point for the world’s dance music community, drew voters across 147 countries to vote for their favorite DJ, with an increase in votes of 30% from 2004, indicating that dance music is growing beyond its own audience.
Paul van Dyk said: “ It’s not about winning, but it’s a great honor to be voted #1, it makes me proud and thankful. The biggest ‘thank you’ must go to the artists and producers who make the fantastic music I play, the great team I have around me, and to all my fans and those who voted for me”.
