Lennon Catalog Goes Digital

John Lennon
The estate of John Lennon is finally arriving in 2003: The former Beatle's entire catalog will finally be available as a download.

All of Lennon’s solo material will be online and available for download Dec. 6, though services that will distribute the files have yet to be named. A Lennon compilation, Working Class Hero, made it to select online retailers this week.

Don’t go searching for Lennon’s songs on iTunes, however. Because of a long-running legal dispute over trademark rights between The Beatles’ Apple Corps. Ltd. and Apple Computer over a previously hashed-out division of music and computers between the two companies, Lennon’s tunes, like that of The Beatles, won’t be on iTunes.
