Will Oldham Preps Live LP As Well As Covers LP Featuring Tortoise, Ruins Mascara

Will Oldham
The ever-reliable Will Oldham is set to release a live album November 15th. This is Oldham's first foray into live release territory and comes care of long-time home Drag City.

The album Summer In The Southeast is indeed a collection of songs recorded last summer as part of the Superwolf tour Oldham mounted with the aid of guitarist Matt Sweeney and pals.

The 17 songs on the LP are mainly culled from Superwolf [TMT Review], but a few older ghosts also drift through the unseasonably warm air.

Oldham is also set to be featured on a new collection of cover songs, entitled The Brave And The Bold, a collaboration with Chicago mainstays Tortoise that was reportedly the end result of a joke between friends.

The Brave And The Bold includes songs by the likes of Elton John, Devo, The Minutemen, Melanie, Lungfish, and Bruce Springsteen. The LP is due early next year and will see release thanks to Overcoat Recordings.
