Nick Cave has written and composed the music to a new film. The explosive film called ‘The Proposition’ is set in Cave’s native Australia in 1880 and features an all star cast including Guy Pearce and Ray Winstone. Cave has composed the soundtrack along with long-time Bad Seeds collaborator Warren Ellis. The score includes chamber pieces, ghostly landscapes and whispered laments to complement the film. Speaking about the way in which the film and the music are intertwined, Cave explains: “I always heard it musically, and I guess it's written rhythmically as well. |
“It's very similar to the way my band operates. There are moments of intense violence and there are also moments of long, lyrical, quiet sadness.”
New songs set to appear on the 16 track album, include ‘The Rider Song’ and ‘Clean Hands / Dirty Hands’.
The Proposition OST is released on November 14.
