Green Day to play Katrina charity show

Green Day at the "MTV Video Music Awards"

Green Day have signed up to perform at the Hurricane Katrina relief show on September 10 to benefit victims of the disaster, which has ravaged Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Link Parks Chester Bennington will also take part in the shows, which will be held in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Nashville and broadcast live on MTV and VH1 across the US. Proceeds from the shows will go to the American Red Cross.
