Rocket From the Crypt Breaks Up

After 16 years, San Diego's Rocket From the Crypt is throwing in the towel.
The once highly active band's output and appearances slowed to a trickle over the past few years, as front man John Reiss began concentrating on his Hot Snakes project -- which also recently broke up.

The band's most recent effort was 2002's Live from Camp X-Ray (Vagrant); it hadn't been in the studio since 2001's Group Sounds (Vagrant) .
The band has planned a final send-off show for Halloween at San Diego's Westin Horton Plaza Grand Ballroom.
