Depeche Mode will launch their first North American tour in more than four years on November 2nd in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The five-week jaunt will support the veteran electronic trio's fourteenth album, Playing the Angel, due October 18th. Angel marks the band's twenty-fifth year together and finds frontman Dave Gahan -- who released his debut solo album, Paper Monsters in 2003 -- sharing songwriting credits for the first time. Among his contributions is the ballad "Precious." "It's about what's important," Gahan told Rolling Stone, "and seeing life through the eyes of my children." Depeche Mode will bring the Bravery and the Raveonettes along as openers for the tour. After the North American dates, Gahan and Co. will head to Europe. |
