Paul Weller played some new album tracks at the intimate gig at London’s 100 Club last night. The ex-Jam frontman played at the venue for the first time in 21 years to a 150 invite-only audience. Amidst all the older tracks such as ‘The Changing Man’, ‘Woodcutter’s Son’ and ‘I Walk On Gilded Splinters’, Weller played a number of newies from his forthcoming album ‘As Is Now’. The modfather played forthcoming single ‘Come On/ Let’s Go’ as well as new track ‘Blink and You’ll Miss It’. Recent single ‘From The Floorboards Up’ also got an airing to the Weller faithful. Support for the event was due to come from The Rakes, but the band were forced to cancel the slot due to frontman Alan Donohue’s ongoing throat infection |
