![]() | The feud between The United States and Cuba is internationally understood and on May 6, Audioslave made history by becoming the first American rock group to perform in the Communist country. The band hit the capital of Havana and rocked the Anti-Imperialist Plaza in front of 60,000 fans. Epic/Interscope Records will release the concert on CD, Live In Cuba, on October 18. |
The 18-track double-disc set includes a DVD containing live concert footage, a 30-minute documentary, a TV special that was recorded on the occasion and a bonus CD from an AOL Sessions performance. The release will also be available as a single DVD version that will include the documentary and 14 live tracks.
The 60,000 fans who gathered in the Plaza — which was originally built as a place to protest against the U.S. government — got to hear "Cochise" and "Like A Stone" from their 2002 self-titled multi-platinum album, as well as tracks from this year's Out Of Exile, including "Doesn't Remind Me" and "Your Time Has Come."
They also played Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun," "Outshined" and "Spoonman" in addition to Rage Against The Machine's "Bulls On Parade." It was the first time the band performed songs from their former groups and they have since continued to include the songs in their live sets.
