Goldfrapp To Tide Fans Over With EP

Goldfrapp
With its new album, "Supernature,” not due in North America until March 7 via Mute, electronic pop outfit Goldfrapp will on Nov. 1 release the EP "Number 1." Beyond the title track and two remixes, the set features the "Supernature" tracks "Beautiful," "All Night Operator" and "Ooh La La," which recently debuted at No. 4 on the U.K. singles chart.

And while "Supernature" is still several months from release here, tracks from the set have been licensed for use in the TV shows "NCIS" and "Grey's Anatomy."

The new album is the follow-up to 2003's "Black Cherry," which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart. It spawned the club hit "Strict Machine," remixes from which reached the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in June 2004.

Goldfrapp is in the midst of European headlining shows and support slots with Coldplay through Nov. 29 in Paris. A one-off New York show is in the works for December, to be followed in February by a month-long U.K. trek.

The group is also offering authorized live recordings of a handful of recent performances via LiveHearNow.co.uk
