The Strokes showcase new album in Rio

The band give fans their 'First Impressions Of Earth'

The Strokes kicked off their first tour of the year last night in Brazil and gave fans a taste of their eagerly awaited third album 'First Impressions Of Earth'.

Playing to a sold out crowd in Rio de Janeiro's Museum Of Modern Art (October 21), the band launched into a mammoth 23-song set peppered with five new tracks, alongside fan favourites from their previous two LPs 'Is This It' and 'Room On Fire'.

During the show, the band apologised to the Brazilian crowd for the delay in coming to their country to play.

Tearing through opener 'Hard To Explain', 'Last Nite', 'Someday', '12:51', 'The End Has No End', and 'Reptilia', The Strokes also premiered live forthcoming single 'Juicebox', 'Heart In A Cage', 'You Only Live Once', 'Razor Blade' and 'Hawaii Aloha'.

The Strokes continue their tour tonight at Rio de Janeiro's Cais Do Porto (October 22) before heading to Sao Paulo (23), Porto Alegre (25), Buenos Aires (28) and Santiago de Chile (29).
