Broken Social Scene | Getting the disparate members of your musical collective together for prolonged periods of time is nearly impossible, even if you're from the socialist paradise that is Canada. That's why Broken Social Scene is touring without some of its members this fall. According to Billboard, Jimmy Shaw and Emily Haines, of Broken Social Scene and Metric, are occupied with touring duties for the latter, and therefore will not join BSS on their North American tour. "We're learning the evils of releasing simultaneous records," Shaw told Billboard. "The only way for both projects to be promoted at the same time is for me to be on tour with Metric. |
Metric can't exist without me, but Social Scene can." Lisa Lobsinger, a former member of the Calgary band Reverie Sound Review, has replaced Haines on the current BSS tour. Feist will also lend her dulcet pipes to the BSS tour, as she is opening for the band on most of their US dates. Broken Social Scene and Feist will take the stage tonight in Detroit.
