Being interviewed by the Observer at the weekend Alex Kapranos said of their next project: "It's not about getting to the white hot heart of pop. We just want to get to the next place after this one." Kapranos also admitted that he has a somewhat explosive relationship with guitarist Nick McCarthy but it all helps when they’re writing new material. He admitted: "We're both quite strong characters. We have a lot in common, but what we don't have in common is drastically different. It's explosive as well as symbiotic. It gives it an edge." |
Nick McCarthy revealed in the interview that the band had recently met one of their idols David Bowie and were completely star struck: "I spoke to him and I asked him if he'd ever been to Harlem.”
"He said the first time was 'When I was Ziggy'. I thought, bloody hell, you really are that guy, aren't you?”
