Mars Volta to Pick Scabs on Nov. Live Album

Musical wizards and proper face-melters The Mars Volta are preparing the release of Scabdates, a live album featuring recordings fashioned while on tour in support of ground-breaking De-Loused in the Comatorium (2003) and this year’s sophomoric song cycle Frances the Mute.

"The Volta" slash fans a slice of their spectacular stage act, mounting a 74-minute manifestation of the band’s cathartic super-fantastic song and dance, packaged with works of loyal Volta collaborator-photographer Danielle Van Ark. Known for their ambitious improvisational recording style, you are probably inquisitively wondering just how the hell Scabdates will sound different from any other Volta monstrosity. Assembled, mixed and produced by guitarist Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez, The Mars Volta manic musical enterprise will do nothing less than blow your mind.
