Six Organs Of Admittence

Between his summer touring duties with Comets on Fire, his August Born project with Hiroyuki Usui, the Badgerlore record with former Deerhoof guitarist Rob Fisk, and way more than six other commitments, it's a wonder that Ben Chasny has time to devote to Six Organs of Admittance. Behold the power of psychedelics. But he here is, beginning a run of mostly East Coast dates tonight, in anticipation of the recording of School of the Flower's follow-up this winter. The tour will feature all electric performances, as opposed to the eccentric acoustic guitar picking Six Organs is known for. To augment these electric ambitions, Chasny has enlisted Sunburned Hand of the Man drummer John Moloney to play the percussive foil.

Chasny and Moloney, along with fellow Sunburned member Paul Labrecque, have recorded a 7" together, with release date forthcoming. But that's not the only Six Organs single news: On the Six Organs website, Chasny also insists that a split 7" with Colossal Yes (which also shares at least one member with Comets on Fire) is still in production, as well as a split single with stoner gods Om.
