Damon Albarn (photo by Michael Williams) | Blur have said that they will release an EP of new material before the end of 2005. Damon Albarn spoke about the band's new material to London's XFM saying, "...you probably won't know about it. It'll just 'come out'. It'll be so, sort of, underplayed. It'll come out but you won't know it's us as it'll be so, well, not us." Always a man of eloquence, Damon continued by explaining that the band have plans to record new material post haste. "It'll be agressive. Aggressively laid back. It's the total opposite of the Gorillaz." Admitting possible guitarist defeat, Damon's claimed that his limited knowledge of the six-string will limit Blur's ability to produce another full-length album as the band have stated they aren't looking to replace estranged guitar genius Graham Coxon. |
As for those with a hankering to watch the band live, he's told the station that they may play this year: "Probably do a couple of pubs round Christmas. To be honest with you, it'll be nice."
Ahem.
Popscene, alright.
